Treatment Programs

Ocean Addiction Recovery Services is committed to supporting our clients through the entire journey of their recovery.  It is our belief that everyone who approaches our treatment team for support may be at vastly different places on the recovery spectrum.  Recovery is a life-long experience and OARS believes in continued engagement throughout.  We feel a tremendous amount of responsibility to meet the needs of all of our clients wherever they may be in their recovery process.  OARS offers options for a Partial Hospitalization Program, Intensive Outpatient Program and support groups to meet those needs.

Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP): Day and Night Treatment with Community Housing

This program is offered as the most intensive option for individuals who need more structure than an Intensive Outpatient Program but do not meet criteria, or are unable to participate in a residential treatment program.  Individuals at this level will experience approximately 25 hours a week of group and individual counseling. It provides a safe, supportive and compassionate atmosphere to allow for therapeutic recovery.  The goal of this program aims to prepare the individual for transition to less intensive outpatient services and increased self-reliance through the practice and mastery of relapse prevention skills and the active use of self-help programs.

Intensive Outpatient Treatment (IOP)

This program is offered as a step-down from PHP or as a point of entry for individuals who require less structure than our Partial Hospitalization Program. The Intensive Outpatient Program level includes a minimum of 9 hours a week consisting of group and individual sessions.  This gives the individual an opportunity to re-integrate into their community while still receiving support.  Clients receive education and assessments with a strong emphasis on relapse prevention.  The goal of this approach is to provide ongoing treatment and monitoring promoting stabilization of co-occurring disorders and to minimize potential of relapse.

PHP and IOP offer the following services:

  • Medical Management / Psychiatric Services
  • Integrated / Individualized Treatment Plans
  • Individual Therapy, Group Therapy, and Addiction Education
  • Family Therapy, Parenting Groups, and Education Programs
  • Peer Support Groups
  • Random urine screening

PHP and IOP are licensed by the Florida Department of Children and Families

Treatment from drug and alcohol addiction is extremely complex, as it disrupts many facets of an individual’s life. Although drug consumption was once voluntary, addicts suffer from compulsive drug seeking and intense and uncontrollable cravings. Addiction is a disease of the brain; with alteration of brain circuitry to include reward, motivation, learning, memory, and impulse control (inhibition).

Our counselors are dedicated to the development of healthy individuals. Together, we will explore coping strategies and mindfulness techniques so that when inevitable life difficulty occurs, the patient will be more successful at maintaining abstinence from substances.
As the individual withdraws, they must relearn how to live a life free from drugs and alcohol. Our counselors strive to help guide their clients attain their own, personal path to inner freedom and regain individuality and power. We know that each patient holds the tools for success and happiness within them.

Behavioral Health Services

As part of overall wellness behavioral health services are also available focusing on mood stabilization, trauma resolution, anxiety, depression, and increasing self-esteem and self-worth. Our behavioral and mental health clinicians work with adults, adolescents, couples, and families.

Personalized Services

We believe treatment that specifically attends to the needs of the individual patient is vital to sustained, long-term recovery. Treatment plans are gender specific and age specific. Men and women often have different responses from and motivations to use drugs and alcohol, and therefore need treatment tailored to their needs. Each patient receives an individualized treatment plan and team. The team includes medical staff, an addiction counselor, a behavioral health counselor, and other supportive services. We also will assist with psychiatric services as needed. Our clients are treated mentally, physically, and spiritually so they can gain the tools they need to have a productive and healthy life.
